Proportion of female founders in the energy sector visibly growing
Although the proportion of women founders remains low worldwide, the trend is also encouraging in Germany: According to the “Female Founders Monitor 2022” published by the German Startups Association, the proportion of female founders has been increasing for several years. What is striking here is that the proportion of female founders is noticeably higher among green startups (23%) than among the “non-green comparison group” (18%), the German “Green Startup Monitor 2023” shows. This is a trend that we also recognize in our startups.
