Proportion of female founders in the energy sector is visibly growing
Even though women continue to be underrepresented in the start-up ecosystem, current data shows a clear trend in the green economy: according to Green Startup Monitor 2024, the proportion of female founders is 24%, which is significantly higher than in non-green start-ups (17%).
An above-average number of female founders are involved in energy- and climate-related business models in particular. This trend is also confirmed in our programs at AXEL.
